BARN OWL MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS

Provided mounting hardware - (2) 5 foot cables (2) s hooks crimped on cable (4) cable locks pre mounted (4) u bolts pre mounted

*Do not lift the house by the Roof, the roof is held in place with 4 temporary screws for easy clean out and repairs.

LOCATION - Try to mount item as high up as possible, I mount mine 15' but they will work lower down to 8' feet. Hang item in a tree or from the inside of a structure such as a barn rafter.

MOUNTING PROCEDURE - To hang the box tie a long rope around the cables or box then throw the other end up over the branch, you can then pull the box up to the branch from the ground then tie off the rope to the trunk of the tree to hold box in place.(*this is much safer then trying to carry the item up a ladder) Next using a ladder next to the hanging box you can then unhook one cable at a time and place over the branch then rehook the cable to the box and untie the rope. (The cables run left to right or side to side on the box as shown in the pitchure on my web site) Pull the cable under the branch and hook the s cable from left to right together to hold the cables together (there is one s hook for each cable crimped on to one side of each cable) This will keep the box from wanting to slip to one side in storms and still allow the cables to slide as the branch grows.

CLEANOUT - The roof is attached using 4 screws under the overhang on each side of the house. Simply loosen the four screws with a phillips screwdriver and the roof lifts off.

*PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN HANGING THIS ITEM (KNWOODWORKS IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR INJURIES RESULTING IN MOUNTING OR HANGING ITEMS)
