This is a plan for building
a diagonal hanging wren
house, this plan is based on one of
ouritems and is a standard
plan used by many. The
material can be almost any wood
but I find cedar works best
for outdoor items, use 1/2 to 3/4
inch material for best results. Simply cut out your parts then assemble using glue brads and or screws or nails.
  • TIPS - Pre drill parts prior to assembly
  • Use weatherproof glue such as tightbond 1 or 2 for strength
  • Assemble the house in sections such as the roof as one section
  • Test fit your parts prior to assembly
  • Make marks on back side of wood for lesssanding at end of project and allways use pencil
  • The size of the housecan be adjusted according to width of boards for quicker assembly and less cutting example would be a 6" wideboard could be used to make front and back of house instead of 5 1/2 cutting one to specific size
